Sunday specials...

Sometimes we like to let Evan look at the sale ads from Sunday's paper to see if there's anything we can't live without (he keeps saying "roomba! roomba!" while looking at the roomba vacuum picture in the Kohl's ad. I can't think the roomba is a good idea for our family, though).

Kidding, of course. But this just goes to show how much he's in the "I wanna be like Mommy and Daddy" stage. Which means that we have to be SO CAREFUL about what we're doing and saying.

It's a good lesson, I suppose. If we're doing/saying something we wouldn't want the boy to be doing/saying...then perhaps we shouldn't be doing/saying it at all.

But what fun would that be. :) :) :)

In addition to reading the newspaper with Daddy this morning, Evan also made me imaginary applesauce for breakfast. What's fun is that it's the first time I've seen him do honest-to-goodness "cooking." He usually just bangs the pots and pans around. But today he brought me a saucepan and said, "applesauce, Mama?" I pretended to take a bite, said "mmmmm"...and he just laughed and laughed. Whew. I passed that test.

He also has become quite sensitive to inanimate objects. He carefully places them and says, "there you go, {insert object name here}." So sensitive. Then he rams his trike into the wall. Sigh. Baby steps.
